Verification of the tightening of the screws

In some previous articles I have explained some simple operations of maintenance to execute to your Cifarelli machine (mist blowers, blowers, vacuums or shakers) as air filter cleaning, spark plug maintenance, the correct way of storing, etc.

Today I would like to focus your attention (to the Cifarelli customers but, why not, even to those who own a machine with another brand name) to the verification of the tightening of the screws.

If you observe the manual of the machine that you own, in the chapter “Check-up and maintenance” (obviously now I’m speaking to our customers) it is suggested the verification of the tightening of the screws each 25 h of use of the machine, and above all after the first 25 h (when the machine is new and the engine still has to settle).

This operation is very important because the vibration of the engine may provoke the loosening of the screws, especially those of the cylinder and the exhaust; the consequences can be unpleasant as the breakage of the cylinder base gasket, leakage of oil from the carter, irregular functioning of the engine, ignition failure.

To check the tightening of the screws of the cylinder and the muffler, proceed as follows:

• Remove the cover of the engine unscrewing the four screws A, B, C, D, using the tool provided with the machine:

• Verify the tightening of the four screws of the cylinder (marked in yellow).

I remember to you that the torque of the screws of the cylinder is between 8 Nm and 9 Nm.

• Verify the tightening of the screws of the exhaust (it is possible to check the two screws of the exhaust without removing the cover of the engine).
