Maintenance at the beginning of the season
It’s almost spring and it’s time to take care of the maintenance of the green areas; soon people will start to turn on lawnmowers, brush cutters, blowers, mist blowers etc. ... if they light up!
How many of you at the end of last season, remember to bring your machine to the trusted service center to perform the correct maintenance before the long winter break?
If you’ve forgotten, there’s still time.
Like any engine, your machine also needs attention:
- Cleaning of the air filter
- Disassembly of the carburetor, cleaning and possible replacement of the membranes.
- Verification and possible replacement of the mixture filter.
- Cleaning (decarbonisation) of the piston and cylinder (that is, removing the residues of combusted oil from the piston head, from the sky and from the cylinder exhaust); this also depends a lot on the quality of the oil you use to prepare the mixture.
- Verification of the tightening of screws and bolts.
By doing so, your machine will be ready when you need it.
Next time, go to the service in the autumn, before turning on your machine; being in low season, the mechanic will probably have more time to devote to the maintenance of the engine and carry out the work with all the time it needs.
