SB45, the first battery-powered shaker, wins the EIMA Technical Innovation Award
We are bringing professional harvesting into the battery era with SB45, our new hook shaker awarded as Technical Innovation at EIMA International 2026.
For us, this marks an important new milestone in an innovation journey we have been pursuing for nearly 60 years.
SB45, our first battery-powered hook shaker, has won the EIMA International 2026 Technical Innovation Award, one of the most prestigious accolades dedicated to innovative agricultural mechanization solutions.
We developed SB45 building upon our extensive experience in the harvesting sector and continuous input from professional operators. Our goal was to maintain the efficiency and performance of traditional hook shakers while introducing the primary advantages of battery technology.
Professional Performance, Enhanced Comfort
We designed SB45 with the operator at the center. Weighing 10 kg, the machine was engineered to reduce fatigue during long harvesting days and enhance overall ergonomics. Battery technology allows operators to work with lower noise levels, reduced vibrations, and zero exhaust emissions near the user. Additionally, it eliminates the need to prepare fuel mixtures or handle gasoline, making operations simpler and more comfortable.
The electric motor is also designed and produced in-house.
At the core of the project, we introduced several patented technical solutions, including a compact axial motor, engineered to minimize lateral dimensions, and an ergonomic external swivel joint with adjustable stiffness.
Furthermore, we worked to reduce the number of moving mechanical components and implement a dry transmission.
Great attention was also dedicated to comfort: vibration reduction, optimized weight distribution, and an adjustable, shock-absorbing shoulder strap all contribute to lessening fatigue during prolonged use.
A Tradition of Innovation That Continues
With SB45, we earn the EIMA Technical Innovation Award for the fourth time.
Our first recognition dates back to 1998 with the SC62 shaker, a machine that helped establish the benchmark for hook shakers and of which SB45 now represents the technological evolution.
This milestone was followed by awards in 2006 for the BL6S silent blower and in 2012 for the M1200 mist sprayer.
“After helping define a market benchmark for two-stroke shakers, we are now taking our expertise to a new level with a battery-powered solution that simply did not exist until today. For us, innovating means concretely improving the daily work of those who use our machines: greater comfort, increased focus on operator well-being, and zero compromise on performance.”

We will officially introduce SB45 at EIMA International 2026, marking the start of a new generation of Cifarelli solutions dedicated to professional harvesting.
